Attorney Samantha Stevenson has kept her eye on the prize—climbing the corporate ladder and breaking the glass ceiling.
But while Sam’s been busy focusing on her career, her husband Jack has managed to maintain work-life balance, and he’s sick of Sam’s late nights and constant connection to her laptop. After fifteen years of marriage he wants out, and, he admits, he’s been seeing another woman.
Shocked and devastated, Sam flees to her hometown of Denver, hoping the unconditional support of her father and her best friend will help her put things right. But when she purchases an old but respected antique store on a whim, she learns that relationships—like businesses—need to be handled with care.

Bittersweet Lemonade
By Lisa Oliver
This compelling novel is not your usual "chick lit" piece of work. Instead, the book has much more substance, as does the main character who is certainly not a "cardboard cutout" who lacks depth. She has painfully reached a devastating crossroad in her life, forced to make some weighty decisions about her future and about who she is and what she wants out of life. While trying to make a new start, she discovers, with the support and encouragement of friends and family, that she is stronger than she realized. The collaborative authors have definitely "done their homework" regarding the worlds of law, finance, and the antique business. The book and its heroin capture the readers' interest and empathy as she forges ahead to rebuild her life and her sense of self-confidence, both shattered at the onset of the book. As most of us have faced some sort of disaster or desperation in our lives, it is easy to connect to Samantha. I hope the authors find the time and inspiration to continue her story with another wonderful read.

Good Book Club find
By Sherrill Koelbel
Not your typical "Oprah" tale of woe and angst and tough female luck, this story of a married woman "wronged" by her husband
doesn't dwell on spiteful revenge as reward - but rather on the pull up your "big girl panties" get on with life attitude of our 'heroine" Samantha Stevenson. The story sticks with the one script of the daily advancements of Samantha's moving on - and includes
all the details of the day in chronological fashion, as women would speak to one another in telling their stories to one another. Its
as though she is in the room - telling us about her feelings and recovery. Its a compelling read - and a book I am hoping to share
not only with my book club, but also with friends whose marriages end in a split. So many have wasted time despairing over their hurt that I think Samantha can be a role model in shedding spite and depression, for the renewed purpose in finding a new life.
